Velari
A complete bookkeeping and reporting system for accounting practices, built around the way UK firms already work, with an AI layer that prepares drafts for your review.
Everything a client's year needs
Bank statement import
Import CSV statements from NatWest, Revolut Business or any bank with standard columns. Each line is matched against the books: confirm it, post it, or mark it as different. Tick a run of lines and commit them together.
Payments, receipts & reconciliation
Payments, receipts and transfers between accounts in one list with a running balance. Reconcile one line, a selection, or a whole statement at once.
VAT returns
Per-client VAT settings and a record of filed returns. Each period's return is built from the categorised transactions in the books.
Reports & year-end
Detail reports, trial balance, profit & loss account and balance sheet, laid out for A4 printing, with CSV export. Opening balances roll forward when you start the next year.
Client details & Companies House
Keep the registered office, HMRC references, contacts and services for each client. Look a company up at Companies House and fill in the details automatically.
Dashboard of what is outstanding
Statements to review, uncategorised items, Companies House deadlines and anti-money-laundering checks due, each with a button to where the work is done.
AI agents that prepare the work
The agents work on the data already in Velari, so they can show their working. Every suggestion links back to the transactions behind it, and nothing is filed or sent until an accountant approves it.
Categorisation agent
Suggests the category and VAT code for each bank line, learning from how your firm has coded that client before. You approve high-confidence suggestions in bulk and look properly at the rest.
Missing-items agent
Lists missing receipts and unexplained deposits, drafts a plain-English email to the client, and turns their reply into proposed entries.
VAT return preparation
Drafts the return with pre-filing checks: unusual rates, reverse charge, movements against prior quarters, and items that may not be reclaimable.
Year-end drafts
Proposes accruals, prepayments and depreciation with its reasoning, and explains the movements from last year.
How the agents behave
- Drafts, never final. Agents prepare; accountants approve.
- Every number explains itself. Click any figure to see its source transactions and the reason for their treatment.
- Review where it matters. Confidence scores let you approve routine items in bulk.
- Learns your firm's way. A correction to one client's coding applies the next time.
- Full audit trail. Each change records who made it, person or agent, and when.
